For the past two years, I’ve been encouraging myself to make art again. I’ve had to do this alongside this newsletter, my teaching, book projects, and other commitments. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been so empowering—creatively and personally.
Today, I have some exciting and special news to share. As I briefly mentioned in Monday’s newsletter, an installation I’ve been working on has been selected for the London Design Biennale at Somerset House this June 5th — 29th. Yay!
It's called Roots of Trust and is based on a design artifact that quietly but profoundly reshaped our working lives. As my friends and family keep reminding me, this is a big deal, and readers will want to go behind the scenes. Over the next few months, I’ll take you inside this incredible experience and share everything I’ve learned.
A little about the London Design Biennale…
It’s a gathering of some of the most exciting design ideas from around the world, and this year’s lineup is truly inspiring. I’ve had a sneak peek behind the scenes, and I’m especially intrigued by the installations from Poland and Oman.
What drew me to this year’s theme, Surface Reflections, set by Artistic Director Dr. Samuel Ross, is its deep exploration of how ideas take shape—how they’re sparked by both our inner worlds and the influences around us.
