Dear Rethinkers,

This month, my days have felt so compressed, pulled in too many directions. I often notice this restlessness in myself and others around the solstice, when the light lingers longest and the year quietly turns.

But when I look at the month, at the things I’ve visited, seen, read or experienced, I see lines and spaces. Not a tidy grid, but something looser, more like a woven fabric or an old bookwheel (the subject of last month’s newsletter). Ideas looping, connecting, pointing somewhere… though I’m not quite sure where yet. It’s one of the reasons why I love putting together the pinboards for you.

June’s Pinboard picks up on those loops — from programmable looms that hinted at machine learning, to tsundoku, to Gehry’s first pencil lines on a page.

Speaking of lines, there are still a few Roots of Trust Limited Edition tote bags available. I’m modelling one here at a recent RSA talk (and no, I didn’t intentionally match my trousers to the gold walls!).

Curious what’s on my pinboard this month? From insightful articles to design inspiration and hidden listening gems, become a paid subscriber to explore in full!
